Challenge #191-Black, Orange And Yellow

Happy Tuesday before Halloween, everyone!
I have really enjoyed our October full of fun (maybe more than you have, LOL).  I am going to start the post off with a quick decoration idea which I came up with twenty years or more ago and it is still going strong.  I took a log, some paint, a drill and a dowel and here is what I created for my walkway:
Jack-o-lanterns you do not have to worry about scooping the innards out of!

Now, on to our top 3 for challenge #189:

Congratulations, ladies!  And a spooky thank you to everyone who participated this week.

Next, we have our recipe contest.  Unfortunately, not too many people jumped on my bandwagon.  We only  had two entries and both of these ladies (Jan Del Bone and Brenda Kroeker) will receive prizes.  Just email me your addresses and I will send your prizes later this week when I go across the border.  I am going to collect any other recipes anyone may want to send for one more week to see if I can get enough for a cookbook of sorts.  Just email them to cherylsteve.robinson@shaw.ca.

On to this week's sketch:
Our last Halloween theme is to use Black, Orange and Yellow (if you want)
Here are the examples from our talented team.

Wow! ladies.  Your cards rock!  With all these interpretations of our sketch, I am sure you will inspire our followers to create awesome cards of their own.  And I for one cannot wait to see them.

Have a safe and spooky Halloween!

Challenge #190 - Spooks and Other Scary Things

Hello!
I have to say that I am having a great time during our little October event.  Several of you took the time to hop around and unscramble our words, and, judging by the comments and emails, you had fun.  I let Random Generator pick our winner and it is CATHERINE GRAY.  Congratulations!  Please email me your mailing address so I can send you your prize.

We also had one follower who attempted to guess the identities from the childhood photos.  PETRA HELLER is the brave lady.  Please email me as well with your address and I will get your prize to you.

(This week's fun addition will be at the end of the post so remember to read all the way through.

Now for our top 3 from Challenge #188 ....

Great cards, ladies!

Now for this week's sketch...and a bit of a different twist to the theme.  Our theme is "Spooks and Other Scary Things", a fun one by itself.  But I have asked our designers to go one step further - to create any other project but a card and I am asking you (if you want) to follow this guideline as well.
Our sketch:
And here is what the design team came up with:
(art journal page)

Wow, these "non cards" really rock!  I am sure our followers will be inspired to create their own special Halloween projects.

One more little treat for you, Sara H. also created a wonderful haunted house last year .  Here is the link (if you want to know how to make it)

Lastly, here is our fun, interactive event for this week.  Please email me with your favourite candy or cookie recipe and I will randomly draw one winner for a prize next week.  Entries close on Sunday at 6:00p.m. EST.  I will also compile a "cookbook" with all the recipes I receive which everyone can download next week.  This is open to followers and designers as well.  (my email: cherylsteve.robinson@shaw.ca).  Yummy, yummy!

Have a great week!

Challenge #189 - Autumn Splendor

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in Canada (yesterday), Happy Columbus Day to everyone in the US (yesterday), and happy Tuesday to everyone everywhere!

First, let's get to the top 3 from challenge #187.  Here they are:

Kudos to the top three and a thank you to all who participated.  All the cards were great and the choices were not easy.

Now, for this week's sketch - optional theme "Autumn Splendor"
And from the team:

Such beautiful and diverse cards, ladies!  I am sure you will inspire our viewers to come up with masterpieces of their own.  I can't wait to see them!

On to our October fun.....or fun for me, at least.  Last week, we had no guesses in our contest.  It has been suggested that it was too hard. So, I am holding it over one week but you only have to get one correct "child picture" to enter the draw.  Just email me at cherylsteve.robinson@shaw.ca with your guess.  I will draw on Saturday at 6:00p.m. EST.

Now for this week's contest - a word scramble with a Halloween twist.  Just visit the blogs below to unscramble the words.  Each will have two words on it.  Once you figure out all of the scrambles, leave a comment on this blog.  One winner will be drawn on Monday, October 20th and that winner will have to email me their list of words (just to keep things fair).....so here goes.
      The first two words:  TGHOS
                                       POKOSY

Now visit these blogs for the other words:

So, hop around and have some fun!

And remember to post your cards below........
Thanks for joining us!

Challenge #188 - Thank You

Welcome to a very busy October at Try Stampin'.  This month will be filled with fun and contests and oportunities for us all to interact with one another.
But our first order of business is our top 3 for challenge #186.  We had fewer entries but they were all great!  Here are the top three as chosen by the team (Whew, I am glad I did not have to decide):

Congrats, ladies, on some beautiful cards!

Now for this week's sketch....
Our theme ("Thank You"), should you choose to use it, is in honour of Thanksgiving here in Canada next Monday.
Here are the examples from the team.

Beautiful, ladies!  I love all the autumn colours and the different takes on the sketch.    I am sure you will inspire our viewers to create some great cards of their own.

Now for the "fun" event for this week.  Several of the designers have sent me photos from when they were children.  Your job is to match the picture with the grown-up versions of these ladies.  The pictures are numbered so just send me an email (cherylsteve.robinson@shaw.ca) with the picture numbers and the correct designers  beside them.  I will draw one winner from all the correct guesses and that viewer will receive a prize.  Deadline for entry is Saturday, October 11th at 6:00p.m. EST.  The winner will be announced next week on our post.
So now, let's have some fun..........

 1.

 2.

 3.

 4.

 5.

 6.

 7.

 8.

Wow!  I do not think this will be an easy contest.  Several designers looked very similar as children - sweet young girls with long hair......and then there is #8!  Good luck on your guessing.

I hope to see lots of cards based on our sketch this week and lots of answers to our "guess the designer" contest.  Have a great week, everyone!
